We are probably the only ones who will read this blog, and that's just fine. Now that my second baby is nearly one year old, I figure it's finally time to have a sustainable way to document our family life without maxing out storage space. After searching through different options for a digital journal, I landed on the platform that's been here for us since day one...Blogspot! The true hero (or culprit?) of the social media movement. Oh, that we could go back to the time when family blogs and funny YouTube videos without ads were all the internet media we needed!
I'm Sydney (29) and my wonderful husband is Hayden (30). Our two baby girls Sara Jane (3.5) and Julia May (10.5 months) are the most special, beautiful things in the world, and we can't believe how blessed we are to call them ours! We are in an incredibly busy time of life, and Grandma Syd will be heartbroken if I don't start documenting these amazing (and extremely difficult) years in the trenches of parenthood. I won't try to backtrack too much, but I'll make a couple of highlight posts for Hayden and me as a couple and our two gorgeous girls.
In preparation for this blog, I dug up my mom's old blog she kept while we were kids between the years of 2007-2012. I couldn't help but get a little emotional reading her words, knowing what I know now about motherhood and the all-consuming nature of raising children, keeping a house, and trying to hold on to yourself and your own interests while supporting those of your kids. Getting a glimpse into how she was feeling during those sweet, crazy years makes me want to document this precious time with my babies. I hope that when they read through this blog in 20 years, they will look back at their childhood with fondness and know how much their mom loves them.
We hope you enjoy the love (and the mess) that is The Anderson Adventures. Thank you for reading!
